Cinematic history
Cinema Online is the brainchild of two enterprising individuals who have a dream of revolutionizing the Malaysian movie scene. The website www.cinema.com.my first saw the light of a screen in October 1998, and since then, has grown to include thousands of pages worth of content. In this website you will find all the latest happenings of movies, be they local or international. News, reviews, previews, and contests are amongst its highlights. All this from the humble beginnings of Cinema Showtimes, now encompassing around 95% of ALL Malaysian cinemas, and as always, updated daily for your convenience. Cinema Online also introduced online ticket reservation and to date, is still the only operating nationwide cinema reservation network.
Mobile
Cinema Online started going mobile when it introduced showtimes, movie listings and reservations on SMS and WAP in 2000. Currently Cinema Online works with all three mobile operators to extend the mobile experience even further with new mobile technologies as well as movie trailer downloads.
Wireless
Through the success of www.cinema.com.my, came the idea of a magazine that will enable more venues for providing cinematic entertainment to our constantly growing base. Cinema Online Magazine was first published in October of 2002, and has since grown (and still growing) in size, quality and of course content. Take a flip through, and you’ll not find an overlap, but instead an enhancement to your Cinema Online experience. You’ll find unique and original coverage of movies, both international and local, celebrity interviews, pull out posters (always a favourite) and MANY opportunities to win great prizes that include limited edition movie premiums!
